Jo is a photographer from Mersea Island. Her work encompasses a cinematic, narrative-driven approach. She enjoys exploring concepts of place and memory to approach ideas which combine elements of the imagined and the real. Her current practice investigates feelings of uncertainty about the modern world and the theme of dystopia.
Jo’s work has been exhibited and published internationally, including at Millepiani in Rome, The Atkinson Gallery in Somerset and The Old Truman Brewery and Printspace in London. Places where her work has been published include Dodho Magazine and Fotonostrum Magazine. Her solo exhibition ‘Mersea Island’ took place in 2018. She has had success in competitions such as the Moscow International Foto Awards, the Association of Photographers Awards and the Batsford Prize.
